My petition
There is a toxin in our seas that has doubled in the past few years called mercury. This unfortunate progression has occurred due to mass air pollution settling in our world's oceans. My proposition is to remove one of the major factors of this air pollution which is coal mines. There are many other things such as vehicles, factories, and most industrial practices, but I believe that if this problem comes to light we may be able to have these numbers slowly decline. From studies done, it’s shown that our oceans can recover quickly from this toxin but we do need to give it time to rest. I don’t think this is something that can be solved all at once, but I have a feeling that it can be solved with enough effort and the dedication of all people. I want this petition to be signed a bit, then after that I will end up sending this to the department of energy. What I want to happen is to remove some coal mines or start changing some of the main power plants to something renewable such as hydro or wind power.
